The Pipestone / Clearwater Chain of Lakes enable boaters to enjoy over 70 miles of waterways. Pipestone Lake and Clearwater Lake are the two biggest. Clearwater Lake is 95 feet deep while parts of Pipestone Lake are over 200 feet deep. All the lakes have outstanding fishing for Walleye, Muskie, Northern Pike, Smallmouth Bass, Crappie and Perch. The two big lakes have Whitefish while you will find some backcountry lakes along the chain with really good Largemouth Bass fishing.

Smaller lakes that are along the chain and are accessible via river, narrows or mechanical portages are Schistose Lake, Slender Lake, Stone Dam Lake, Panorama Lake, Loonhaunt Lake, Ottertail Lake, Link Lake, Weld Lake, East Jackfish Lake, West Jackfish Lake, Quill Lake, Mile River, Footprint Lake, Manomin River, Rice Lake, Despair Lake and many more lakes that have not been given names
