Clearwater-Pipestone Chain of Lakes Fishing Regulations:

Walleye Regulations

  • Open Season: Jan.1 - April 14 & 3rd Saturday in May to Dec. 31
  • Limit - Sport License: 4 possession 2 per day
  • Limit - Conservation License: 2 possessions 1 per day
  • Size Restrictions: No walleye may be kept over 18 inches

    Northern Pike Regulations:

  • Open Season: Open all year
  • Limit - Sport License: 4 possession 2 per day
  • Limit - Conservation License: 2 possessions 1 per day
  • Size Restrictions: No Northern pike may be kept over 27.6 inches.

    Muskie Regulations:

  • Season - 3rd Saturday in June to December 15th
  • Limit Sport License: Catch and Release only
  • Limit Conservation License: Catch & release only

    Lake Trout Regulations:

  • Open Season: Jan.1 to Sept.30th
  • Limit - Sport License: Daily limit is 1;possession limit is 2*
  • Limit - Conservation License: Daily limit is 1;possession limit is 1
  • Size Restrictions: No Lake Trout may be kept over 34"

    Smallmouth Bass Regulations:

  • Open Season: Open all year
  • Limit - Sport License: From Dec.1 to June 30 - 2 daily limit, must be less than 13.8 inches. From July 1 to Nov.30 - 4 daily limit, no size limit
  • Limit - Conservation License: From Dec.1 to June 30 - 1 daily limit, must be less than 13.8 inches. From July 1 to Nov.30 - 2 daily limit, no size limit
  • Size Restrictions: From Dec.1 to June 30 bass must be less than 13.8 inches to keep; from July 1 to Nov.30 there is no size limit.

    Largemouth Bass Regulations:

  • Open Season: Open all year
  • Limit - Sport License: From Dec.1 to June 30 - 2 daily limit, must be less than 13.8 inches. From July 1 to Nov.30 - 4 daily limit, no size limit
  • Limit - Conservation License: From Dec.1 to June 30 - 1 daily limit, must be less than 13.8 inches. From July 1 to Nov.30 - 2 daily limit, no size limit
  • Size Restrictions: From Dec.1 to June 30 bass must be less than 13.8 inches to keep; from July 1 to Nov.30 there is no size limit.

    Perch Regulations:

  • Open Season: Open all year
  • Limit - Sport License: Fifty in one day
  • Limit - Conservation License: Twenty Five in one day

    Black Crappie Regulations:

  • Open Season: Open all year
  • Limit - Sport License: 15 in your possession
  • Limit - Conservation License: 10 in your possession
  • Size Restrictions: No size restriction.

    Whitefish Regulations:

  • Open Season: Open all year
  • Limit - Sport License: 12 in your possession
  • Limit - Conservation License: 6 in your possession
  • Size Restrictions: No size restriction.
